As the only conference interpreter for German<>English in Aachen with VKD membership⇲ (German Association of Conference Interpreters), I am your go-to expert for all things related to English interpreting for event planning.
My extensive experience comes from a diverse career path.
Originally from Augsburg, my journey has taken me from El Salvador to Brussels, then Aberdeen, Cologne, and now Aachen. My international background has helped me master German (native), English, French, and Spanish to a high level.
My passion for interpreting began during a volunteer year in El Salvador, where I facilitated multilingual discussions. This experience inspired me to study Interpreting and Translation at
ISTI in Brussels
(now ULB), followed by a
Master’s in Conference Interpreting in Cologne. My interest in international politics and the EU led me back to Brussels, where I completed a
traineeship at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Interpretation (SCIC). There, I helped manage and develop the terminology used by SCIC interpreters, primarily contributing to the IATE database.
I’ve been working as a freelance translator since 2020, and in 2023, I joined the German Association of Conference Interpreters (VKD in BDÜ e.V.)⇲as a conference interpreter. I’ve had the opportunity to apply my expertise at a variety of events, both online and in person. These have ranged from automotive seminars and labour negotiations to support for refugees and asylum seekers, and even European political meetings. I’ve also interpreted at art exhibitions, gaining new perspectives along the way. No topic is too complex, and no distance is too far. This dedication is what defines me and my profession.

You might be wondering why an elephant is featured on my website. I chose this majestic animal as my mascot because elephants embody many qualities that are also essential for a great interpreter.
Elephants are highly intelligent creatures with remarkable memory, social skills, and empathy. They are communicative and maintain contact over long distances, overcoming obstacles and boundaries with ease. These traits also reflect my approach as an interpreter in Aachen.
Aachen itself has a special connection to an elephant: Abul Abbas, Charlemagne’s elephant. Learn more about Abul’s fascinating story.
As a professional interpreter in Aachen, I support you in the successful planning and execution of your multilingual events.
